After years of working at some of the world’s best recording studios, multiple Grammy-winning producer / engineer / mixer Jim Scott opened PLYRZ Studios in Valencia, California in January of 2006. Located just 25 minutes north of Hollywood, PLYRZ features a classic Neve 8048 recording console and rooms full of vintage instruments, outboard gear and microphones. PLYRZ has already hosted the likes of Wilco, Ryan Bingham, Court Yard Hounds, Ron Sexsmith, Grace Potter, Crowded House, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gary Louris, Kathleen Edwards, Missy Higgins, Los Lobos and many more...
PLYRZ's control room hosts a classic Neve 8048 console, originally installed at RCA Studios in New York City in 1976. Two Neve BCM-10 consoles are also available if needed for recording, as well as a large array of classic outboard gear, multiple speaker choices and numerous new and vintage microphones...
The live room is loaded with vintage instruments and there are two isolation booths for vocals, piano or acoustic instruments. There's also an amplifier isolation booth with room for up to five amps or Leslie Speakers...
